There's nothing I can say that hasn't been said. What a terrific game. Haven't felt like that since Salt Lake City in 2002 and even that game could not match this one for sheer drama. The biggest goat of the series becoming the biggest hero. The unsung one cuing the comeback. Pisani, no longer unsung. Smyth and Horcoff setting the tone for the third with a terrific first shift, setting the tone for their teammates as they did all series. Roloson - I wonder what his SV % is for the last 14 games. Great job.

This team had a lot of questions about their guts, their smarts and their killer instinct before this game. Hell, before the third.

Questions answered.

The one negative - seeing what may have been Steve Yzerman's last game. One of the all time greats. But don't cry for the Wings. They've been at or near the top of the league for 15 years now. They have plenty of great young players - they'll be contenders again next year albeit with a changed lineup. When your fourth line scores as many goals as six of your top nine forwards and two of your top two D (Lidstrom and Schneider) play pretty subpar then you know you have some issues. Some pretty poor discipline at times too. It was strange to see. Anyhow they'll be back. Thanks to AbelToYzerman as well for some great give and take over the past couple of weeks. A real passionate Wings fan but also evenhanded in his commentary. Always gives credit where credit is due. Always enjoyed reading his blog every day for the "other" perspective.

Cheers! On to round two.
